Paul Harrison

About Me

After graduating from Fanshawe College, Paul started his career illustrating and designing at an award-winning agency in the greater Toronto area working with brands like KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. After three years he moved on to become art director for LTD Snowboards and Volant Skis where his awareness of current graphic trends, colours combinations, and production skills were put to good use.

In 2000, he went on to freelance for several years working with small businesses and non-profit organizations but decided to return to the action sports scene when an opportunity arose to become production manager for Sims Snowboards. His prepress knowledge and attention to detail allowed him to ensure that all design files were error-free prior to printing large runs of snowboard graphics overseas (taking Paul to Austria to double-check final artwork).

Unfortunately the Toronto office was closed by parent company Huffy Sports Inc., but a six month contract with Apparatus Inc. (now Jacknife) allowed him to return to London in late 2004 while remaining involved with the final stages of production for the 2004-05 lineup of Sims Snowboards.

Paul then worked at two award-winning agencies—The Marketing Department (TMD) and Honey Design—with clients like Columbia Sportswear, Sorel, St. Joseph’s Health Care/Foundation, etc. For the last eight and a half years he worked for CDK Global, LLC. (a global software company with headquarters in Chicago, IL). Paul was a key player on their creative services team but declined to relocate when asked.

This year Paul will be exploring new work opportunities within the design industry (as part of a design agency or internal marketing department) in Southwestern Ontario. If you have a career opportunity or simply a design project to be completed professionally, please contact Paul.
